This 100-year-old craftsman style nine-unit apartment building is situated in the King’s Hill neighborhood of Southwest Portland. The building is located two blocks from shopping on NW 23rd Avenue and only three minutes away from a grocery store and a wide variety of restaurants. It is also very close to Jeld-Wen Soccer Field, the home of the Portland Timbers. The MAX is easily accessible. Downtown Portland is very close, as well as Washington Park and the Rose Garden. The location couldn’t be more accessible for grad students, downtown workers, or anyone interested in living in a very urban environment that is at the same time urbane.
The building features six 1,400 square foot 3-bedroom flats with hardwood floors and galley kitchens. There are also two one-bedroom apartments and and one two-bedroom apartment. The building, originally designed and built by the Morgan Builders, has recently had a façade face-lift restoring the building’s character close to the original design. There are many buildings in Portland that feature the same stamp that Morgan put on this building, but this structure features the best characteristics of the Morgan craftsman apartment buildings. The façade features Corinthian capitals, and large fluted columns, spacious front porches, and symmetrically placed windows.
